Likewise, near the snake of the century we began to see innovations in string make-up and composition. Polyester strings had been around for many years. They never gained favour because the performance characteristics were quite frankly god-horrendous. They were stiff and lost their playing properties at the speed of light. A company called Luxilon was among the first to open revising the performance characteristics of polyester strings with effective chemical and element additives. As a effect of this extreme makeover, “copoly strings” were introduced to the creation of tennis.
